Peter Turchin & Dan Hoyer: Disrupting Politics

Disrupting Politics is a collaboration by a student group from the Technische Universität München, the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM). For the September 2024 conference, Seshat: Global History Databank researchers, Peter Turchin and Dan Hoyer, were invited to give a keynote presentation for the session ‘Democracies: Failing systems or renewable?'.

Peter and Daniel spoke about their work on the CrisisDB research program, and how tracking social pressures over the long-term (decades to generations) can help us not only foresee trouble on the horizon, but perhaps allow us to choose a better path.
